Mandatory NIMS Training
North Carolina authority for this mandate for training originates within the following Proclamation. This has been incorporated in ordinances and approved by every County and Municipality in North Carolina.
Completion of certain FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses is required by the State of North Carolina and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. All NC AUXCOMM volunteers must complete this training.
All radio amateurs operating under the auspices of AUXCOMM in North Carolina are required to complete
IS-800b , IS-700a, IS-100b, and IS- 200b. (It is suggested to take these in the order listed)
These courses are internet-based self study and are available free of charge from the FEMA Emergency Management Institute.
If you take any other FEMA courses in a classroom environment, you must first register for a FEMA student ID prior to taking those courses. REGISTER
