RMS Express Group Addresses
[ This is the DigitalNet CHAT link, placed here for your convenience ]
RMS Express (Winmor) has the capability to send Email to a single address or a Group Address (i.e. an Email List or Alias). To create a Group Address, open RMS Espress and, on the top menu bar, click Files -> Group Addresses. In the box labeled “Group Name” enter a short description for the list e.g. TESTGRP. For the 29-MAY-2014 Net we will use the example group to send to N7RYN & K3RHJ and ourselves as described below.
Enter as shown above, except, substitute “myEmail@somename.com” with your commercial Email address. Then Press Save & Close.
Note that there are several more Aliases showing in the display area in this example, as we can have more than one group. Also, if a recipient’s address just consists of a Call Sign, the program will add “@WinLink.org” for a complete designator. You could, of course, include it yourself, but does not seem to be necessary.
Now when we wish to send to the Group “TESTGRP”, we can simply Left-Double-Click that group from Contacts sub-window and the New Message window will pop up and populate the To: field with our alias:
It is envisioned that Group Address lists might be distributed for use during Activations and Exercises.
